ENJOY BRAZIL’S EXOTIC CARNIVALE AT SAMBA RIO!
Transport yourself to Carnivale in Brazil at BRAYCE’s Fourth Annual Samba Rio Ball for an exhilarating Brazilian experience! Catch that Latin beat with Cantico, Trinity Samba and Sound of Brasil and learn those samba dance moves with exotic Brazilian performer, Quenia. The event features a fabulous silent auction, which will include charming primitive paintings and ethnic items from Brazil, and the opportunity to mark an unforgettable evening with a photograph taken by Diane Sobolewski from Goodspeed. The theme this year is Oceana.
Get started before the event at the Samba Dance Workshops at the Chester Community Center: Tues. Feb.16, 6:45PM (ballroom style) and Fri. Feb.19, 8:00PM (Carnivale style). A donation of $10 per class is requested.

Sample complimentary Brazilian savories, sweets and two complimentary beverages (then cash bar) including Brazil’s world-famous Caipirinha cocktails, which will be made from scratch, all night long! Prizes are awarded for best masks, costumes and samba dancing.
The event is the main fundraiser for BRAYCE, which is dedicated to providing educational and leadership opportunities for young people from Brazil and the United States. BRAYCE is a non-profit agency based in Chester, CT, with an office in Rio de Janeiro. Every penny raised from Samba Rio goes towards the costs of the exchange program.

Ticket holders aged 21 years or older will receive wristbands so that they may be served alcoholic beverages. Young people under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

Directions to the St. Josephs Parish Hall, Chester: From Hartford take Route 91 to Route 9 South, continue through the two traffic lights in Middletown, take exit 5 (Deep River), turn left and proceed to the first cross roads and stop sign at the Fire Station. Continue ahead another 200 yards to the traffic light in the center of Deep River. Turn left onto Middlesex Avenue (Route 154 North). Continue for about one mile. The Parish Hall for the dance is on your left (opposite St Josephs Church) with a large free parking area - address is 48 Middlesex Avenue (Route 154) for GPS. If you see the sign ahead for bridge repairs, you have gone a little too far.
From Old Saybrook or Route 9 North, take exit 5, turn right and proceed to the first cross roads by the Fire Station. Then continue as described above.
Note: If you are using GPS avoid exits 6 and 7 due to the bridge repair works in Chester. Call (860) 575 8969 if you have a problem.
De Hartford, pega Route 91 ate Route 9 South, continuar, passando Middletown, ate saida 5 (Deep River), pega a direito ate o STOP sinal ao lado do bombeiros. Continuar en frente ate o centro do Deep River. Pega esquerda ao sinal e proceda no Route 154 (Middlesex Avenue) por, mais ou menos, duas kilometros. Samba Rio fica na esquerda, atras o area libre de estacionamente, oposto a igreja St Johns. Boa sorte.
